At LG Jordan Oil & Gas, we strive to provide the most dependable propane delivery service in Raleigh and across our service area. Here are some of the most common questions we hear from propane customers:
Q: What propane delivery options do you offer?
A: We make propane delivery simple and flexible, so you can choose what works best for your home:
Q: How do I get ready for a propane delivery?
A: A little preparation goes a long way in helping your delivery run smoothly. If possible, make sure your house number is easy for our driver to spot by clearing away snow, ice or overgrown branches. It also helps to shovel and treat your driveway so our truck can park safely. Finally, please clear a path to your propane tank. We truly appreciate your help — it makes everyone’s day safer and easier.
Q: Why doesn’t my tank gauge read 100% after a delivery?
A: It’s completely normal for your gauge to stop below 100%. For safety reasons, aboveground propane tanks are typically filled to about 80%. This extra space allows propane to expand when temperatures change, which helps prevent pressure issues. Propane expands much more than water when it warms up, so that buffer space is an important part of keeping your system safe and reliable.
Q: Should I buy or lease a propane tank?
A: Both options can work well, but most of our customers find that leasing is the easiest choice. When you purchase a tank, you gain full ownership and flexibility, but you’re also responsible for installation, maintenance, repairs and eventual replacement. With a leased tank from LG Jordan, we take care of all those details for you.
Q: Can I paint or change the color of my propane tank?
A: For safety reasons, propane tanks are manufactured in light colors that reflect heat and help keep pressure levels stable. Because of this, tanks shouldn’t be painted darker shades. And if you lease a tank from us, it’s important not to paint it yourself.
If you’d like to make your tank less visible, landscaping, fencing or decorative screens can be great options. Be sure our delivery team can still access it easily. Contact the LG Jordan crew to discuss your options.
